New installation powered by solar energy allows 24h monitoring
The integration of renewable energy in infrastructures and equipment is one of Infraquinta's commitments. Incorporating systems that allow the generation of energy while contributing to a meticulous operation not only raises the overall service quality but also promotes sustainable management. In this sense, a new solar panel energy generator has been installed to feed the flowmeter and a pressure sensor at the entrance of the Atlântico allotment.
Before this intervention, the data for the District Metered Area of Atlântico allotment were obtained once a day containing records of the last 24 hours. The investment makes it now possible to provide a quick and efficient response to anomalies in this area since it allows real time data monitoring through a Remote Management System. This system also allows to set high flow alarms thus contributing to an economic and efficient management of water supply, enhancing its energy efficiency. This is a step framed in the strategic plan for the water and energy efficiency of this municipal company and that responds to the challenges posed by the Municipal Strategy for Adaptation to Climate Change in the Municipality of Loulé.
