The first 100% electric vehicle for urban waste collection
As foreseen in Infraquinta's annual planning, the company acquired a fully electric vehicle, which meets the actions for implementing the EMAAC – Municipal Strategy for Adaptation to Climate Change, of Municipality of Loulé.
This new light-duty electric vehicle is powered by electricity, with no emission of pollutants, mainly intended for the collection and transport of the urban waste in Infraquinta's intervention area, in the framework of the door-to-door collection service.
The vehicle approved for circulation on the public roadway, with a minimum range of 85km, has a closed cabin, with capacity for two occupants and also a cargo box with capacity up to 730 kg, which guarantees the efficient execution of the collection and maintenance services provided by Infraquinta.
It should be noted that the company already has installed a charging station for electric vehicles for internal use, since last year, and foresees a progressive replacement of conventional vehicles for electric vehicles.
