Quinta do Lago and Ancão beaches awarded
On 23rd June, the quality of the Loulé municipality beaches was once again recognized with the awarding of prizes to the Quinta do Lago and Ancão beaches. Both the beaches received the “Praia de Ouro” (Golden Beach) flag, awarded by Quercus (National Association of Nature Conservation), and the “Bandeira Azul” (Blue Flag), which was awarded by the ABAE (Blue Flag Association of Europe) and by the Portuguese branch of the Foundation for Environmental Education.
In addition to these awards, Ancão beach also received the “Praia Acessível” (Accessible Beach) flag, which results from the “Praia Acessível – Praia para Todos!” (Accessible Beach – Beach for Everyone!) project coordinated by the INR (National Institute for Rehabilitation), and that is awarded to beaches that are accessible to persons with reduced mobility.
The hoisting of the flags was done in the presence of the responsible entities, namely the Loulé Municipality, the ARS Algarve (Regional Health Administration of Algarve), the Faro Captaincy, the Coast Guard, the APA (Portuguese Environment Agency), Quinta do Lago, S.A., and also the Parish Council of Almancil.
This event showed once again that the maintenance of these beaches by Infraquinta, following rigorous quality standards, results in beaches with more quality and more accessible to everyone.
